A photography blind built for the birds.
Designed with professional bird photographers for clean backgrounds and beautiful morning light.
Made for photographers
Ramsey Canyon Inn has long been a haven for birders — and now for photographers too. Tucked into a secluded spot above the bed & breakfast, our blind was designed in partnership with the professional bird photographers of Sabrewing Nature Tours, with every detail considered: a favorable light angle, clean backgrounds, height-adjustable feeders, and a selection of natural perches — including native plants — that you can swap in during your shoot. A variety of foods is provided to draw a range of species. This is a morning blind; afternoon light angles aren't favorable.
Inside the blind
At 16 feet wide by 6 feet deep — about 96 square feet — the blind comfortably holds up to six photographers, with a ceiling over six feet. Inside you'll find seating with backs, a rubber-matted floor to dampen sound, hooks for gear and jackets, and a handy ledge for teleconverters or a coffee. Camouflage window panels slide to hide movement while keeping the feeders in view, and seat cushions, seed, and suet are stowed in the bin.
Sessions & rates
We offer both shared-group and private sessions. Single sessions are $75 per person and run from 30 minutes before sunrise until 2 PM. To have the blind to yourself and your party, reserve it privately at a discounted $350. For the full experience, ask about a discounted lodging-and-blind package that includes breakfast.
Reserve
The photo blind is reserved as an add-on to your stay. Give us a call and we'll book your session and add it to your reservation. Each permit, individual or whole-blind, runs from sunrise until 2 PM. If you're staying with us, one parking space comes with your room; day visitors not staying overnight are welcome too — just call to arrange a session.
